Homeschooling in Australia is not a new concept. In fact, back in the day, families used to have full sovereignty over their children’s education. Today, most schooling lies in the hands of governments. So how does this feel for thousands of families across Australia?
In late 2021, in response to the Government’s handling of the pandemic and the impact this had on schooling, we surveyed 4,000 parents representing 8,000 children across Australia.
As part of our findings, we discovered that 69% of parents had key concerns that were related to issues such as declining educational standards and “indoctrination”.
These concerns alluded to teacher shortages, overcrowded classrooms and declining staff morale, issues which are only getting worse.
In short, the education system is in crisis. HOME EDUCATE was born out of a need for change and a knowing that as parents, we have choices.
